About David Nikolas

Experience. Honesty. Advocacy for the artist.

I believe in honest work, clear direction, and helping artists find the strongest version of their own voice.

A lifelong Jersey boy raised in Clifton, I found theatre the way many people find the work that matters most to them:
by trying it, returning to it, and eventually realizing it had become home.

Over the years, my work has moved through acting, directing, producing, writing, teaching, and coaching. I have worked on professional stages, in front of cameras, behind creative projects, and in classrooms full of students learning what it means to stand up, speak clearly, make a choice, and mean it.

That mix of experience shapes how I work. I care about craft, but I also care about the person doing the work. I believe students and performers need clear expectations, honest feedback, practical tools, and someone willing to tell the truth without turning the process into punishment.

At its best, theatre gives people a place to become more specific, more generous, more disciplined, and more alive.
That is the work I keep coming back to.
